Peri's birthday and more

Ashton's last football game, which was incredible!!!! They stayed undefeated throughout the season and won as champions of their division.  His teacher Mrs. Thompson on the left and his assistant teacher Mrs. Zabel even came to watch him- which made his day! Best teachers ever.

Ashton was pretty pumped after the game....... can you tell, lifting chairs over his head and what not!

It was also red ribbon week and Ashton couldn't wait to wear this hat for "cap-day"

Peri and I had crazy hair day at our school, which was soooo silly!

Peri's birthday cake- the theme: an art birthday. It's a painter's palette. Can you tell.?

Marmee and GG stayed with us Thursday night, and took Peri and all of us to breakfast for her special day! Peri choose Perkins.

Picking up the girls after school for the party.  They are sooo excited!

This was one of the art stations- make your own Lava Lamp.

Another station- fingerprint art- which Taylor supervised and gave lots of good ideas

Another station-drawing with crayons on the griddle! This was the big hit of the party. Also, Taylor's friend Brandie was staying with us for the weekend while her parents were out of town.  She was such a helpful girl at the party.

Ashton helping at the initial paint station- he was such a great helper.

Here is Claire with her initial canvas art. C for Claire

Peri asked if her dad would grill hamburgers and hot dogs for her birthday dinner.  Clue was also right on hand, in case any should fall on the ground.

OH, silly girls

Peri making a wish!

Peri thanking Grace for her present.  She gave all the girls a hug after she opened their presents.  It was soooo sweet. What a good girl

We got to go visit Crista at BYU-I on Thursday to watch her perform in the Halloween concert.  She even had a special birthday present for Peri.  It was a BYU-I Hello Kitty, which Peri appropriately named "Crista"

Crista all dressed up for her concert

Taking it all in

There's Miss Crista- yes she is 1st violin and second chair! She's soooo good

Dad and Ms. Ruth Barrus....story to follow about this photo

Here's dad telling the story of when he went to Rick's college (now BYU-I). Mrs. Ruth Barrus (who the auditorium we went to, is named after) called dad and Rick Bateman (his roomie and best friend from Shoshone) to have an appointment with her.  Apparently they were not showing up for their 7 a.m. Book of Mormon class. She told them how important it was, and that often people called her to report on her former students when doing job interviews; including the FBI.  This scared them into submission, until the next morning when the alarm went off at 6 a.m. when Rick hit the snooze button and asked "you didn't want to work for the FBI anyway didi you?" and both went back to bed.  Amazingly they both graduated and were VERY successful in life.
